We hope you enjoyed the Quincy Stake Youth Fireside that was held in March! The youth participated in a “social experiment” on how we spend our time (see Gallery below). Then they discovered who they are. A “Saturday’s Warrior” which as described in the lyrics by Lex De Azevedo explain, that these few youth were warriors saved for “Saturday”, the last days of the world. Youth then discovered what mission they were sent here for and were given a challenge to work on following impressions in order to prepare themselves to join the Youth Battalion that President Russell M. Nelson invited the youth to enlist in. The Youth Battalion is to help Gather Israel. At the end of the Fireside the youth were given a challenge and invited to participate in a Saturday’s Warrior Boot Camp Training…
SATURDAY’S WARRIOR BOOT CAMP TRAINING
- DECIDE | Decide if you will join the Youth Battalion.
- “So my question to you is, “Are you willing to enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord to help gather Israel?” Please think about it. Don’t answer just yet.” – President Russell M. Nelson
- ASK | Pray to Heavenly Father and ask a specific question.
- List of questions you might consider choosing from to start…How do you speak to me? Do you love me? What should I stop doing? What should I start doing? Where can I find more time in my week to give? What talents and gifts do I have and should focus on developing? I am bearing a heavy weight, please give me the courage and strength to get the help I need so this burden can be lifted…
- LISTEN | Listen, look and seek for the answer.
- Places you might turn to listen. His words, searching the scriptures. Feelings, a burning in the bosom. Thoughts or impressions that come. His works, looking around you to see the daily little miracles. Through others words, a friend or family member, a speaker at the pulpit, a podcast. Through writing, taking time to be still and write what comes to your mind or in a journal. Your answers will be very different from others answers.
- ACT | Did you get an answer? Do it!
- Schedule it. Plan it. Organize it. Whatever you need to do in order to make it happen.
- CHALLENGE | Complete the Boot Camp Training at least once by the next Fireside on May 28th
- Tip: You will need to be away from all worldly distractions, find a quiet place and time to complete each step of the training.

Saturday’s Warrior Lyrics by Lex De Azevedo
Who are these children coming down, coming down like gentle rain though darken skies with glory trailing from their feet as they go and endless promise in their eyes! Who are these young ones growing tall, growing tall like silver trees against the storm, who will not bend with the wind or the change, but stand to fight the world alone! These are the few, the warriors saved for Saturday, to come the last day of the world these are they, on Saturday. These are the strong, the warriors rising in the might to win the battle raging in the hearts of men, on Saturday. Strangers from a realm of light who have forgotten all, the memory of their former life, the purpose of their call and so they must learn why they’re here and who they really are they must learn why they’re here and who they are! These are the few, the warriors saved for Saturday, to come the last day of the world these are they, on Saturday.
